Information About The School

Newingate School is a specialist independent school for children with an ASC diagnosis and associated Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs.

 

All students have an EHCP and are referred to the school by their local authority.

 

The school is registered for 11-18 year olds and provides a personalised curriculum to meet each individuals needs via small class and sometimes 1:1 learning support.

We have the following vacancies:

Student Support Manager - Special Needs Position (Full-Time)

Newingate School is looking for a dynamic and proactive Student Support Manager to join our dedicated and highly effective team.

 

You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and have a passion for working with children with SEND, as well as being patient and resilient.

 

The role will be challenging at times but also incredibly rewarding. 

​

The role will be to predominantly support our students in responding, resolving and overcoming behavioural incidents and difficulties at school and in class.

​

We expect commitment to the school and our students’ learning and wellbeing.

 

Possessing the motivation to develop and constantly improve is necessary as we work together, as a team, to create a centre of excellence.

​

Ongoing development and professional learning will be provided based upon your own development needs and the requirements of the school to ensure that students are being supported by skilled and knowledgeable professionals.

​

As a Middle Leader the appointee will be expected to lead on aspects of provision including specified interventions, enrichment activities and team meetings, including training. 

​

The successful candidates will be educated to at least GCSE grade C/4 in English and Maths or equivalent and have appropriate experience of working with children in an educational setting.

Teaching Assistant - Special Needs Position (Full-Time)

Newingate School is looking for an inspiring Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated and highly effective team.

 

You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and have a passion for working with children with SEND, as well as being patient and resilient.

 

The role will be challenging but also incredibly rewarding. 

​

The role will be to predominantly support our KS4 students, but when necessary, it will involve supporting a range of students across the school when required.

​

We expect commitment to the school and our students’ learning and wellbeing.

School Counsellor - Special Needs Position (Part-Time)

Newingate School is looking for an experienced counsellor to join our dedicated and highly effective team.

 

The post is initially for one day a week, term time only (to be agreed), which may suit candidates that are working in the sector self employed or similar.

 

You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and have a passion for working with children with SEND, as well as being patient and resilient. 

​

The role will be to provide counselling support for our students as part of a wider team of therapeutic support staff.

​
